Thanks Omar. The combination SHARMA was delicious. I will be back for the lamb. Thank you for your kindness. Mona

Seasoning on chicken was absolutely delicious, but beef was a little dry. Could be better if pickles are less salty. Overall, good!

  • *****

Went there this after noon to pick up a couple chicken shawarma wraps and a couple of containers of garlic sauce..well the manager was very friendly and when I got home ate a sandwich and it was so good! Used some of extra garlic sauce and it was so fluffy! Was nice to see that they took my past suggestion on their garlic sauce and now I could really taste the garlic! I wanted to eat it by the spoon full!! Please do not change how you make it!!

This place was one of my favorite restaurant since i moved to Edmonton... the shawarma is always fresh and juicy, the staffs are very nice and friendly. In the oder hand one guy was working at the front when 10 people where lining up .I would really appreciate if the service was quicker :)

  • *****

This is my go-to restaurant and has been for a while now. The variety of food is delicious and the prices are more than fair. The service is always perfect. Want to thank Aymane who goes above and beyond for all customers and does a phenomenal job preparing all my orders.

  • *****

The Best place in Edmonton to eat Mediterranean food. I truly enjoyed vegetarian plate and chicken thigh plate. Clean, spacious place with a great service.
    Would definitely visit again.

  • *****

Fantastic, fresh and juicy shawarma! Fair prices and a good spot. I enjoy their patio to. I would REALLY appreciate if the employees were more professional. When my boyfriend and I first walked in they were whispering to each other and looking at us, then when I went alone one of them asked for my number after more whispering and laughing. A bit uncomfortable.

  • *****

Garlic potatoes tasted like as if they were drenched in lime and covered in basil leaves making it something that you won’t finish after your 1/4th of the way into eating it. Shawarma was great though

  • *****

The food is fresh and spiced very nicely. The staff are friendly and engaging. The Shish Combo is fantastic

  • *****

Best beef Shawarma in town only when it’s fresh

  • *****

One of the best lebanese cusine. Is healthy fast food!

  • *****

Getting big and forgetting how to serve a customer properly. Asked half hummus half garlic 5 times. And missed. Why does quality go down when you open more? I'll never come again!

Thanks for acknowledging. I changed it.

  • *****

Great Lebanese food. Chicken shawarma meal was great. Also had the Lamb which was delicious!

Me and wife came in for shawarma our first time in this place and we were provided with respect and outstanding costumer service !! They let us try food before we knew what we want ! Great people food is amazing !! Recommend to everyone!!

  • *****

Extremely fresh and tasty food. I love getting a platter and buying extra for the next day. This place is always open late too which is great. Very generous portions. Thank you!

  • *****

Delicious food and good portions. Would really recommend the beef shawarma wrap.

Recently with the pandemic I have seen an increase in their care with food preparation safety. Last time I was in, they made a point of making my food with fresh gloves prior to touching any common items like the card reader for payment. Really appreciated this and hope to see this more in the future by all the friendly staff there. Kudos to them for making the effort, it stands out and I will continue to be a customer.

  • *****

Awesome late night food. Pretty wide-ranging menu and the price is right. Check it out.

  • *****

  • *****

I ordered the shish taouk pita and it was so so delicious

  • *****

The food is delicious and service is fast and friendly. The portions on the platters are also quite generous.

  • *****

Great place, enjoyed the food and service!

  • *****

Never disappointed at La Shish. I've been going on and off for years, and I always enjoy my meals there. The flavours within their food is so tasty and the portions continually leave me full (with some leftovers to spare)!

  • *****

I really enjoyed this place. The falafel wrap was delish and so was the platter. The garlic potatoes would have been better fresh (they had clearly been sitting in a warmer) but they were still good. This hummus was also very good. I might go back just to buy hummus.

  • *****

Had a team lunch with colleagues at work and we chose La Shish for the halaal option. The restaurant looked really impressive from the outside and the inside was good too but a tad bit small. The staff were warm but not overly accommodating (this is somewhat expected when you've had a somewhat busy day). Had my first taste of hummus and it tasted nice. I ordered the Alberta Lamb trio and it was quite filling. Meal is worthy of a 5-star rating, but I feel service could be improved on.

  • *****

Good food and awesome service! My first visit and the manager gave me a small sample plate to try. I ordered a Sahwarma combo wrap and enjoyed every bite! I will DEFINITELY be back. Edmonton is packed with restaurants that have good food, however, the service here puts this one above most! Good service is hard to find, thank you Lasish

  • *****

Awesome, fresh food. Very reasonable prices. Super friendly customer service. The garlic sauce/paste they use with their potatoes is incredible.

  • *****

Great shawarma options. Top quality rice and hummus. "Momma's special" everyday is usually good. Looks a tad over priced, but you quickly realize the portion you get makes up for it. I've always gotten really fresh veggies and salads. Genuinely excited to try some of the newly added menu items (protein bowls). The only reason for the lost star is the atmosphere. Just doesn't seem cozy. Great for an in and out pick up, but generally so bright that eating there doesn't seem like a comfy option. And the decor is pretty much just menus and food posters. Which pigeon holes them into being a quick grab after the bar.

  • *****

This is one of the best Shawarma places in the city. Grab a loyalty card and get free wraps too.

  • *****

Some of the best shawarma in the city and superb garlic sauce! (Edited because our last couple of orders have been great with no missed items!)

  • *****

Such a wonderful environment. I had lunch there today and my cheeks are sore hours later from smiling so much. It's a place where everyone is treated like family. I've never been more warmly welcomed by any business ever. They truly go above and beyond to make sure that everyone is happy. What a world we would live in if everyone did that. The food is incredible! Everything's fresh, and done exactly as it should be. There's a reason they've been awarded the best Mediterranean food in Edmonton for 5 years in a row. They give their gifts of fellowship, food and good jokes. I was even offered forklift service to get me home after I stuffed myself to the point of being unable to move. I can't wait to go back and try their entire menu. These are some of the warmest and most loving people in Edmonton. Everything that was on my plate was making my taste buds sing. Thank you so much for being so amazing!

  • *****

You should see the love in the eyes of the owner when he puts together a meal for you. While many restaurants serve good food, the energy of kindness and care makes II Shish food unreal ??

  • *****

Service was friendly. Food was good but nothing exceptional. Nice little patio to chill on. Looks like a good stop for drunk-food on a night out.

  • *****

Great little shawarma joint. The best I've had outside of Ottawa. Would definitely recommend.

  • *****

I was pleasantly reminded just how good this food is. I hadn't been there in sometime. I am glad for this experience.

  • *****

Just wonderful food. This small restaurant looks 'domestic' and family owned. I ate there many times and it was always delicious. The place inside is not big, but I don't mind as I always took food home.

  • *****

Pretty good place, good quality shawarma and under budget! Highly recommend it

  • *****

Great food that is well spiced and flavored, and generously portioned. Great vegetarian options.

Hello friends this is another place I went to have food while in Edmonton. This place was close to downtown with very limited parking space. A small restaurant run by a middle eastern family. Going inside itself I could see that a vast majority of their business is take out and they didn't have much space for dine in. As usual I ordered for the chicken shawarma platter basically I love that and also for the consistency in reviewing. The chicken on the spit looked boring all freakish white with no colours to it. They had few lemons on top of the spit and I could feel that zestiness oozing down and few tomatoes and bell peppers pinned to the top of the spit with kebab sticks. The elderly lady in the counter was very pleasant and courteous about dealing with customers she took my order (I also requested her to fry my chicken a little bit more which she did without any hesitation) in between she politely said it would take some time which I was okay with cause I had the entire evening free doing nothing. I was going through the counter display and found stuff that I have never seen before all of it Arabic or middle eastern food specialties. I enquired about few items and they gave me samples to try without any kind of hesitation cause initially when I was ordering I casually told them I am from BC and trying out my favourite food to compare with what I get in Vancouver lower mainland. Even after knowing that I wouldn't be a repeat customer they served me with delight and courteous behaviour. Another food that I had ordered for the first time was Kibbe, herd about it but never tried. Finally after 10 minutes waiting and few samples of new items I got my order to go. The next 20 minutes if the drive was painful as I had the aromatic food in my car and couldn't eat it except for the KIBBE I was munching on that happily. Finally I reached my hotel and the receptionist got the smell and asked me what did you get for dinner. I have been staying at the same place for the past 4 days and they were really friendly with me. The hotel I stayed in didn't have a restaurant except for complimentary breakfast which was excellent and will review it later. Reached my room and opened the packaging to dive into it. Wow the food was really good. It was a good portion too. I finished the whole of it without any hesitation.
    Food was awesome
    Customer service was amazing
Ambience was dull but they are not bothered because they have excellent food, they trust their take out customers.
Location is really great as they would get repeat customers due to the proximity to downtown
    Parking was pathetic.
All in all I liked the food but want to give only 4 stars due to other factors.

  • *****

This is probably the only real meat shawarma place in all of Edmonton. I haven't been to Lebanon in 8 years and for the first time ever, I felt home. The shawarma is very traditional and original. I always take a long time deciding what to eat as everything there is letirally delicious! The workers are very friendly and helpful. The first time I went there they provided me with 3 different samples of the dishes I was trying to pick from. Will always go back there.

  • *****

New dude working the kitchen is great. Brought back the high standards this place used to have back in the day. Glad to see it.

  • *****

amazing place great service even better food. .. highly recommend

  • *****

The best place to get good food. When I have friends and family in town, this is where I take them to. Omar's customer service is the best and the workers are great.

  • *****

    food was awesome and delicious
love the shawarmas there . excellent customer service and very friendly .

  • *****

Seemingly reasonably priced and authentic. Love the food. Usually get takeout. Only once or twice have I ever been disappointed.

  • *****

The restaurant is very pleasant to be in and the service is good. Got the chicken and beef platter which is great for 2 people. Very delicious and refreshing to eat.

  • *****

The food is always fantastic, and the restaurant has quick and kind service. My go-to is and always will be the chicken shawarma meal, it's amazing.

  • *****

If you haven't tried this place yet, you're missing out!
The food is super fresh and flavorful, and the service is very fast and very friendly.
If you want to eat in, there is lots of easily accessible parking out front.
The inside has a nice authentic feel to it, and it is very clean too.
It definitely shows that the owners and staff actually care about their business and customers.
    Definitely try it out!

  • *****

Mohammed was amazing. Broad welcoming smile, helped with the menu. Fantastic food!!

  • *****

We really miss the restaurant they had on the West End. However, the food is always good at La Shish. It's a tiny 16 seat eatery and cold when the door opens. (Welcome to Edmontons extreme cold 3 weeks now) We will definitely be back

  • *****

Good, tasty food. I've only tried the wraps and they were delicious

  • *****

Great food, low key ambience, open late. What's not to love?! First bite almost tears me up:)). I can't believe I discovered them just last year.

  • *****

It's always good at La Shish Taouk! I have never been disappointed by anything I've ordered.

I ate here last week and had a wonderful chicken rice platter. I also got an order of fatayer, felafel, and a garlic sauce to go. With the platter leftovers, lunch solved.

  • *****

Again second review but only because it's my absolute favorite place to eat. These guys are so awesome today they were killing it, doing good deeds for the community. I just happened to notice while waiting for my meal. This place is located downtown on the popular main stripe Jasper Ave - a place where downtown metro meets, upscale business and also homeless. It was refreshing to see the respect they provided to all walks of people in the neighborhood.

  • *****

We ordered catering from La Shish Taouk for our film shoot and were so impressed with the service, the quality & quantity of the dishes. Highly recommended. P.s. the garlic sauce is immaculate.

  • *****

So delicious!! Love their fried cauliower, zucchini and eggplant with their addictive and amazing tahini sauce - so good!

  • *****

I love the food and fantastic service! The food is so flavorful and the portion is very large! Always extremely happy with the food!

  • *****

My favorite place for chicken Sharma and shish taouk! Best I've had since leaving Montreal!!

Large portions, fun downtown location, friendly down to earth atmosphere. This is where I go to find my happy place. Open late.

    Definitely check this place out!

  • *****

Great service, gave samples without being prompted after I indicated I'd never been in before. Overall great food.

  • *****

Loved the food, great portion sizes, and friendly staff what more could you ask for! I've always recommended it to my family and friends.

  • *****

Great dishes So fresh and Nummy. I want to try everything. Friendly nice service as well. Great for me when I'm on the go......

  • *****

This small cute and cozy place is ideal for a quick snack or cheap dinner for two. Yummy good and vegetaian options are available.

  • *****

I think a lot of people don't stop in because they think it is a full-serve restaurant, but its actually not! It's just got a really fancy exterior! I can't count the number of times I have decided not to stop in when I really should have because the staff are very friendly and the food is good!

I decided to try the falafel wrap and the fattoush which were both really delicious. There are a lot of donair places that don't seem to be selling falafel! It makes me so sad because it is the most delicious thing ever.

They also have pretty yummy baklava! We got six pieces.

There is parking in the front and on the street! They also have a place to sit and eat if you so wish! I will definitely be returning!

  • *****

Friendly staff, excelent food, great price. They made our diner so special,I would recommend this place to my friends and families. Thanks you and See you soon guys!

  • *****

Very good Chicken Shwarma, very filling and flavourful. Price is good for a Shwarma. Staff are very friendly. Had to get in an extra one before my flight back home, highly recommend.

  • *****

Best shawarma in Edmonton. I moved from Ottawa and I'm really picky about my Shawarma taste and believe me it's good....

  • *****

Okay so I literally just tried this place out yesterday and I'm going back for more today!!!! I have tried every Lebanese restaurant in Edmonton trying to find something comparable to Ontario's Lalunla or Vancouver's amazing falafels and everyone was a fail! But this place taste like Lebanon the garlic paste and tahini sauce is amazing the meat taste so good everything is so fresh !!! Thank you for making such an authentic tasting falafel !!!

  • *****

Great place. Went there with my gf last night, staff were so friendly and cooperative as they expained us all the options we have. I think we spent there almost 2 hours. Then in the end, a very kind initiative from the staff as they gave us free baklawa and a side of yummy garlic potatoes to try !! Highly recommended, ill be back there very soon! Cheers guys

  • *****

we came today to this place we were like surprise about the food wow its amazing delicious wish we could taste all on the menu. my family were happy the staff are so friendly. i highly recommend this place.

  • *****

Love to get the chicken shwarma plate with extra pickles, garlic sauce and pita, makes for an excellent meal or two depending on how much you can eat. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended to those who enjoy shwarmas or skewers

  • *****

I drop in now and then for some delicious shawarma kombo. Depending on location, you can have a shisha water pipe after meal with flavoured tobacco as well. It's more on the expensive side tho, therefore 4*.

  • *****

Best Lebanese food I've had in long time. Chicken shawarma platter with hummus and garlic sauce. Almost too much food on the plate. They heat up the pita bread . Yummy! Great service too. Definitely highly recommend it.

  • *****

It was decent. The garlic sauce is amazing. The meat was fair. Edit: Meant to give 4 stars. Thanks La Shish!

  • *****

food is great, price is reasonable, people are friendly, just need to pay attention to cleaning as is food place.

  • *****

Pretty typical selection of Lebanese food. It's fresh and seems to be good quality with real meat (not ground loaf) and fresh made foods with a rotation of daily specials.

  • *****

Went there tonight because I had a pregnancy craving and they were so amazing with their service and quick also. The mixed shawarma wrap (beef and chicken) was super delicious and my husband ate what I want able to finish and he also loved it. Will definitely come back here.

  • *****

I really enjoy the food here. This is my go to for Lebanese food. The staff are friendly and provide prompt service. I usually get one of the plates and they are really generous with their portions. It usually lasts me 2-3 meals.

  • *****

Worthy of lunch an option for late. Certainly a superior choice for late night food. Fast, tasty, and well priced.

  • *****

Today a mistake was made with our take-out order of falafel but when we called to let them know, they remembered us and knew exactly what happened. The cook delivered the proper order himself. It was awesome and muchly appreciated

  • *****

I have enjoyed the food here at least five times! Very delicious, fresh and flavourful. Top 2 pick for ordering.

  • *****

Hands Down Best Shawarma in Edmonton. Chicken is moist. Sauce and seasoning is on point. I'm very loyal to this place and refuse to go anywhere else. Thanks La Shish. =)

  • *****

Good food. Sometimes kebabs are burnt but you can tell them and they will take care of it.

  • *****

The vegetarian plate is pretty awesome & you get 2 meals out of it because you'll need a take out container (huge serving).

  • *****

Killer shawarma and helpful staff. Will be back!

  • *****

    Fresh Delicious with Friendly Staff..
Had Tabouli/Beef an Chicken Shawarma ..... Mmmmmm So good .
    Thx for Great Dinner !!

  • *****

Helpful and friendly staff made lunch deal suggestions to save us a few dollars. The shawarma plates are delicious and the tahini is delicious! The potatoes and tahini dish is a favorite as well :)

  • *****

Love this place! Always great food, fast and friendly service, and huge portions. Try the baklava - so awesome!

  • *****

    Delicious... I are too much.
The food here was delicious with very generous portions. Echoing other reviews... You have to try the garlic sauce, we bought extra to take home.
Although I think the restaurant caters a lot to bar crowds and the interior is small ( 4 tables, 20 seats total) with skip the dishes and take out this is a place everyone should try.
It isn't polished or gimmicky, just really good fresh food.

  • *****

    Excellent service and delicious food!
They re made my girlfriend’s pita wrap so she could choose what she wanted inside! Thanks for being awesome guys!

  • *****

Owe my my I love this restaurant, you order food from hhere that's it. You don't have to spend another dime for the whole day, they give you huge plate for 15 bucks, and healthy. Once you finish that plate go find your bed. And you are set for whole day. And delicious food too. ? yummy

  • *****

Best shawarma i've ever had, welcoming atmosphere and the lady their was so kind and friendly,it was the 1st time i try their food and will definitely go back

  • *****

I came here for lunch and ordered one of the basic combination meals that they offer. It was chicken and came with various other items. I enjoyed the food, mostly, it was very fresh. It wasn't incredibly filling, and I left feeling quite hungry. I spent a little bit more than I wish I would've for the amount of food that I received; but overall, I didn't hate the visit. The staff was really nice, and the older woman who worked there was really really sweet to us. They seem like genuinely nice people and I can tell they care about their customers. I just wish I would've had more filling of a meal for what we paid.

  • *****

One of the best restaurants around.. Staff is friendly and super efficient, Ambiance is good , Prices are reasonable for the quality of food they serve and the best best best part is .. there food is just mouth watering .. my stomach was full but my crave for more food never stopped ..

  • *****

This restaurant definitely deserves 5 stars, I usually prefer home cooked food because of hygiene and it always tastes better than any restaurant because my mom is the cook .. But i finally found a restaurant which beats my mom (the worlds best cook) in taste .. i definitely recommend them to all ..

  • *****

La Shish is a great spot for a quick, healthy meal and one that I frequent often (it's one of my favourite foods to bring home when I'm feeling super lazy).

I'll be totally honest in that I found what I like and I haven't strayed from it (the chicken shawarma plate), so I can't tell you much about about other items on the menu, but I CAN tell you that this particular dish always hits the spot for me.

The platter consists of chicken and rice, delicious Lebanese salad, pickled turnips and cucumbers, garlic dip and a piece of pita bread. Although I do love the chicken, I think I might almost love the sides more. I'm obsessed with the garlic dip and I could eat it on almost anything (side note: brush your teeth 2-3 times after consuming if you're going to be in close quarters with anyone), the pickles are amazing and the salad is crisp, fresh and perfectly dressed.

  • *****

Small, mostly take-out, place serving very good middle Eastern food. The kababs and shawarma are particularly tasty when topped with their yummy garlic sauce. Lebanonese salad also good with a hint to mint.

  • *****

I Just cant thank my friend enough to have taken me to this place, Truly Lebanese , Truly Yummy ....Chicken shawarma is the best in class, Shish kabob was awesome, Falafel best i have ever tasted ... well hats off to you guys keep the good taste going..

  • *****

We went last summers ago here..Best Donairs and Best Fries I have ever had in my entire life. The atmosphere was great. My little family was there at least an hour taking our time eating and we were watching all the nice sports cars go by on Jasper ave through the window. It was a special day for us for some reason, I will never forget it. Thank you. We are from out of town but someday we shall return.

  • *****

Amazing food! Owner is great too! Thanks again. The plate was huge for $18. Hits every taste bud on your tongue. Leaving you stuffed and impressed. I'll see you again when I head into down town from Sherwood Park!

  • *****

5 stars. .....better than the Fairmont MacDonald

  • *****

Amazing Lebanese food! Best place to feel happy that you made the right choice in dining out or in.

  • *****

Always delicious, generous helpings and amazing, friendly service!

  • *****

I went to Lashish on 118 street and Jasper Avenue yesterday for lunch with friends from Lethbridge. The menu options were very interesting to me as I am not that familiar with Lebanese cuisine. We had the Chicken and Beef Shwarma and it was fabulous. It was served with humus, baba ghannouj (charbroiled eggplant) and also garlic potatoes which were delicious. The food was served hot and indeed a 'taste experience' that I had not had anywhere else. The staff were very professional and the service prompt and friendly. Prices were modest especially when considering the quality of the food and service. I recommend Lashish as a 'can't miss' dining experience.

  • *****

Chicken shawarma is delicious! Very filling even if you just get the pita and no sides. Fresh ingredients (love the pickled turnip) Quick service and some nice shaded seats outside.

  • *****

A really cool Lebanese restaurant, compfy and cozy inside. The manager Sam was so nice, he gave me samples of each to try and even gave complimentary baklava desert for my friend and I. The plate was huge, I recommend a lunch deal instead as the portion are huge unless you are sharing. Awesome place to bring a group of friends to share several items on the menu and help support local authentic restaurants.

  • *****

I love the food and the amount you get, I first began eating a the whyte avenue location which closed over a year ago, then found myself downtown and wanting some more great food-so I tried this location. I always order the 20.00 kebob platter which comes with chicken, lamb and beef along with salad humus and a garlic dip. I think i have ordered that same dish from both locations at least 15 or more times. I have never been dissappointed- it does take 12 or 15 minutes to prepare the dish fresh so if your in a rush pick something else this is fan food not fast food. Enjoy!

    UPDATE!

After posting my review, Omar from La Shish contacted me. He wrote that he thinks the price of my meal was incorrectly calculated and that the price should have been less. Subsequently, he has generously invited me to come again and enjoy a free meal. I admire his integrity and his efforts to correct the situation! However, the fault is not all his. I should have been more careful as well and I don't think I should take advantage of a genuine error. Therefore, I will not be accepting his offer, but I will visit La Shish again since my concerns about overpriced portion sizes was mistaken. My view that the food was overall very good remains the same.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This was my first visit here. It is a small family-run business. I was surprised at the small size of the dining area, I was expecting the restaurant to be larger. So be aware there are only four small tables for customers, so it is mostly a "take-out" joint. I was there during lunch hour and it was very busy, which is nice to see since I like to support family businesses when I can.

I had the lunch special falafel plate (which is a smaller version), a small fattoush salad, and a small bottle of water. The falafel plate had 2 falafel, half a cup of hummus, a handful of "Lebanese" salad, a few Lebanese potatoes, and a small portion of wild cucumber and turnip pickles. It also came with a small pita. The small fattoush salad was about a 2 cup portion.

The pros: the falafel was very good, I must say. I was impressed. The hummus was very nice. The fattoush also tasted very good. The flavours were nicely balanced and I wasn't overwhelmed by too much lemon.

The cons: The potatoes did not taste good and were not freshly made. My big complaint is the portions are too small given the price. Total for lunch: $24.50. Perhaps that's because it is a downtown location. But, there are other Lebanese/Middle Eastern eateries in Edmonton that are much more competitive and the food is as good or better. The lack of seating is only a problem if you are expecting to dine in.

  • *****

We've never been to the restaurant but very often get takeout from UberEATS. Quite simply, it's fantastic. I'd eat it every day.

I love Lebanese food to begin with, and this menu appeals to me big time. Kebabs, rice, dips, pickles, salads, pita - what more could you want? This has become our once-a-week order-in menu and we've been immensely satisfied every single time. Will order again and again and again. Their Fatoush is BONKERS. Yummmmm

  • *****

Decent Lebanese food, especially for late nights.

  • *****

Awesome food, Can't wait for the west end one to re-open

  • *****

I usually take out so my review is just on the food. Ordered a mixed plate and it was pretty good. However, the downside for me was they gave such small meat portions considering the plate costs $20. The garlic sauce was very mild so could be a plus for some but I preferred the authentic strong garlic sauce

  • *****

Great Middle Eastern Take-Out. I have been here several times now and I really enjoyed the chicken pita wrap as well as the chicken and beef shawarma combo platter. The rice and garlic sauce is excellent! They even give you an extra pita to wipe up your plate. :)

  • *****

So far best shwarma in edmonton. good food , good ppl.

  • *****

I want to start by saying that this is not a proper sit in restaurant. It is more of a fast food style setup, however the food is excellent. The chicken that we ordered had an excellent texture (often a concern with chicken), and the hummus and garlic were also very tasty. The lunch specials are very reasonably priced, so it may be best to go at lunch time to try it out. I would definitely recommend this to anyone craving shawermas in Edmonton.

Best food in town, the shawarma stand is always loaded and fresh. The portions always generous! Just had an amazing chicken shawarma sandwich juicy not dry and loaded with all the goodies. Does not disappoint!

I was really hesitant to eat here after reading some of the reviews but after getting some twitter advice I decided to go for it:)

I wasn't sure what to get as its been a very long time since I've eaten Lebanese food but one of the guys there was super helpful and I ended up getting the Chicken Schwarma plate to go ..

The food was amazing and with two pita breads it was ample enough for a meal and a half for me. It included come veggie salad in some kind of olive oil/vinegar dressing, two kinds of rice, the chicken and this DIVINE garlic sauce. Next time I'll remember to ask for double the sauce.

I really think this a place I could get take out at at least twice a month and since its just across the street from where I live then I probably will too;)

    This is an amazing find!

It is an unconventional setup. You order from a counter and if you want to eat "for here" you have paper plates. Portions are large, the food is amazing.

I like the service. Friendly and fast.

Honestly, La Shish has long been one of my favorite places to eat-at 14 bucks for the combo plate, it's not the cheapest, but when portion size, ingredient quality and. flavor are taken into account La Shish can't be beat. Note-the Jasper ave location isn't fancy, but they do have a student discount (not sure how it works). If you're looking for a more sophisticated dining experience, with some ambiance, try the other outlet in Mayfield Common in the Westend (excellent atmosphere for hookah enthusiasts).

I think I'll need to head back to La Shish Touk. I stopped by to grab a bite before a big Yelp event because it's just around the corner from the venue. It was convenient, the food came out quickly, it was a lot of food for the money, and best of all, it's not Subway (which is next door).

Staff are nice, although we didn't really have a ton of interaction with them. They were, however, patient while we decided what to order.

My chicken kabob was freaking delicious. Like, stupid good. Mixed with rice plus veggies for what, $11? $12? Nerves might have been a factor, but I also think the incredibly huge size of the plate contributed to my only eating 1/4 of the meal.

Can't wait to head back when I'm not about to throw the biggest Yelp party of my career and I can probably appreciate the meal.

    Good pita bread, too!

Ate here a while ago and went back several times on consecutive days since the food was so good. Shawarma was to die for. You could feed a small country with the meat in the shawarma. Really good taste, Staff was super friendly and accomodating. Ambience sucked. If there was comfortable seating, it would be a nice hangout. Hours are fantastic. Heard the owners were Lebanese but that's ok since I'm a big fan of KD Lang

I love a good Mediterranean/Middle Eastern wrap! I don't know why or how that region came up with such wonderful inventions such as Shawarma /Falafel/Kebab. All I know is that these are the best things to come out of the region and that includes Jesus, Muhammad and Judaism combined!

La Shish is under new management now and I love it here. The serve the halal meat which I simply love. The food is excellent and the price is very right at 7.49 for a Beef Shawarma or 7.99 for a Shish Kafta.

I've never had a problem here and find the service very good. I come here often times very late in the evening. They always seem to be open when I need them!

This is some good Shawarma now that La Shish is under new management. The chicken shawarma sandwich is garlicky-awesomeness. Worth it for a quick bite or a whole meal!

Having not been to every Lebanese place in Edmonton (someday, maybe) I cannot definitively say this is the best Shawarma in town but this is definitely my personal favourite. Nearly a week doesn't go by where we don't come in for lunch or takeout.

Love the meat, love the garlic sauce, love the hummus, love the rice, love the pitas. Small place, only about 4 tables and the prices for the full plates are in the $15 range but you definitely get what you pay for. Bit more of a feel good option nutritionally than your typical takeout pizza/burgers as well.

Good service, very clean, always quick and friendly. Also baby friendly, which is is a nice plus.

You'll get yourself a good drunk feed here!
I always hit La Shish after a night out on Jasper.
They're super fast, friendly, and the food is pretty damn tasty.
I go for a falafel wrap, but I've seen my drunk friends eat a variety if things off their menu and we're always a satisfied bunch.

Yum! Little hidden gem off of jasper ave. I used to pass by this place all of the time but never though twice to try it until today. I definitely wish I hadn't waited this long. It sucks that it's overshadowed by other restaurants in the area. I wish it was in a more visible space because it deserves to be seen and it always seems so quiet.

The chicken shawarma very absolutely delicious and 100 times better than the one I tried from Dedos. I actually didn't want to try any shawarma's after eating that one thinking they were all that bad.

The guy working there was very kind and friendly. Prices are very reasonable. Another bonus is that it's open very late. Although I very rarely eat out at night, it's always good to know that there are other late night options aside from Mcdonalds.
